Morning: Departure and Trek Preparation
Start your day with an early breakfast at your lodge or hotel. You will be picked up and transferred to Volcanoes National Park, where the adventure begins. Upon arrival at the park headquarters, you will meet your guide and receive a comprehensive briefing about the Bisoke hike. This briefing will cover safety protocols, trekking procedures, and what to expect during your hike.
Hiking Mount Bisoke
The trek to Mount Bisoke starts at the park headquarters. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will ascend through a variety of landscapes, including dense forests and montane grasslands. The hike is designed to provide a rewarding experience as you navigate the diverse terrain. As you reach the summit, you will be greeted by the spectacular sight of the crater lake, a serene and picturesque body of water nestled within the volcanic caldera. Afternoon: Descent and Return to Kigali
After spending time at the summit and enjoying the breathtaking views, you will begin your descent back to the base. The return trek allows you to appreciate the landscape from a different perspective and provides additional opportunities to observe the flora and fauna of Volcanoes National Park. Upon completion of the hike, you will return to the park headquarters, where a packed lunch or a meal at a nearby lodge will be provided. This is a moment to relax and reflect on the day’s adventure. Following lunch, you will be transferred back to Kigali. Depending on your schedule, you may have some time for final shopping or exploration in the city. Your Bisoke Hiking Tour concludes with a transfer to Kigali International Airport for your departure or to your Kigali accommodation if you are extending your stay.
